If your looking for repair help you will be better off in the Chrysler/Force repair section. If your looking for advice on buying the motor.
I wouldn't buy it mostly because of the dwindling parts supply. The 4 different ignition systems with some parts just plain not available.Chryslr hasn't been
Chrysler since 65.
Compare the Chrysler/Force Parts section and the Evinrude parts section here at Iboats.

Re: 85 hp Chrysler

I had a new 85 hp Chrysler on a new Chrysler 16' boat in '71. The engine was a gas hog and the prop looked cool but was a waste (cavitation erosion of the prop behind the leading edge). OMC loopers of 10-15 hp less could smoke my arse in speed and definitely in mpg.

Run!!!!!!!
