I have a 1984 85 HP Force engine. The insulation
in the cover rotted so I pulled it all out so it would not get sucked into the carbs. Is there an aftermarket isulation that I could put in to deaden the noise. Is it that important.

Also, I think I read that the Seloc Manuals have errors in them. Which one would be better?

Thanks

I use seloc and clymers. between the two of them I can get most of the information I need. As for the insulation, I am also curious about its purpose and importance. My outboard has no insulation, but I never thought it was a big deal.

I wouldn't put the foam back in , because my thinking is you want to keep the CDI boxes as cool as possible
