Re: 85 hp. Force steering problem

there is a trim-tab under the AV plate, right behind the prop. If you look under there, there should be a bolt through the center of the tab plate. Loosen that bolt and move the rear of the tab (looking from the rear, fwd)to the right, almost at the center location, tighten and try it again and see if it helps...

I moved the tab as far as I could it did help not as severe as before but you dont want to let go of the steering wheel it still wants to go starboard rather rapidly. What next? thanks again for the help.

I've heard of a No feedback steering system. It won't let the motor move the wheel.

The tab, I believe, should move in either direction with no real limit to one side or the other...you may have to remove the tab completely and check for damage that is not allowing farther movement to the right...
This brings me to another question....Is the skeg below the prop, straight???? It hasn't been bent has it???

The skeg looks good and straight the trim tab on this motor has two bolts in it the rear is an allen bolt the front has an over size head on it to cover a slot in the trim tab also the AV plate is machined where the tab fits against it it this is what limits the movement of the tab.
We are going to the U.P.for a week I will have the boat in the water the entire time I will play around with it and let you know thanks again for your input talk to you in a week.
