Hi all its been sometime now for me and I'm in need of a little help
I just finished rebuilding an 85 j25rcur from the ground up.
It went for a swim 10 years ago and now it lives to see another day.
So after the rebuild it was time to see if she would start! She did! It fired up on the 2ng pull and purs like a kitten. The problem is there is an awful lot of drag on the ignition plate from the flywheel magnates pulling on the coil. That my thought any way.
I installed the new coil right on the what I call alinment nubs and I'm thinking maybe its just to close to the flywheel. And needs to be moved in a bit. Before I do this I just wanted to pick a few brains and see if anyone had any tips?
I don't have a book on this motor so I'm not 100% sure what the gap should be.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tim
