85 Merc 150 Black Max Temp Gauge

Since I bought my boat, when I turn on the key it beeps twice and the temp gauge doesn't work. What does it all mean and what do I need to fix ?

The beep is the oil module power on self test, and is normal.

Check out the wiring to the temp gauge. It needs power, and the sending unit is on one of the heads, and wired through the engine harness.
