85 model 25 hp mercury 2 stroke

I have a 25 hp mercury 2 stroke , it is firing on both cylinders & gettinng gas as well . I have replaced the cdi box flywheel & carburetor . This motor has got 125 compression on both cylinders , i have tried everything it will only pop evry once in a while out the exhaust when you try and crank it . I have already swapped the coil wires plug wires and the trigger wires has no affect . I'm open to any suggestions anyone might have .

is this on a 25xd motor?

Did you get it running? A common problem with the 18 & 25hp 2 strokes, is the rubber seal that separates the intake top and bottom cylinder on the reed valve intake manifold plate, deteriorates from the alcohol gas, thus it will not pull air through the carburetor. Pull the intake manifold off behind the carb and check the reeds and this rubber gasket.

The guy made 3 posts over 5 years ago and left. Your advice has fallen on deaf ears.
