85 Wellcraft 26" sterndrive replacement gear ratio

I am looking to replace the sterndrive unit and want to check Double check the gear ratio. The unit appears to have been replaced once before. 1985 Merc 350/260 hp The chart I found shows a 1.5 ratio. I have a Drive unit serial #OC342261 and a lwr unit serial # of A332810. Could someone please double check before I order? Thank You!

Hello 6 Star and :welcome: to iboats.

Both those units check out as 1.50:1 according to the Merc parts listing....

Just be aware that the 0C number is an 'Alpha One' (1986), and the 0A number is an 'MR'(1985)... That said, there is very little difference between the 2, more a marketing name than any major difference....

Hello 6 star. You can't always trust the serial numbers as I found out it may have been rebuilt with diffeant gears. But yes that is what gear ratio u need

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... Ya, a 350/ 260 should use a 1.50:1 ratio drive,...
