I have an 85hp Chrysler. S.N. 3510, model #857HD. The ignition spark is inconsistant. When I have spark, the engine runs fine. I never know when I hit the key whether I'll have spark or not. The points have power when the key is on. The power pack has power in and the ignition wire out of the pack has power. The wire out of the pack that goes to the coil does not have power. Is the pack bad? If so, can I do anything with it to repair it, or is there a cheaper way to get this thing going other that a $250.00 rebuilt pack?
