1985 Force trim pump, been replaced once, the motor went to dropping slowly 2 months ago, now, its hard to get the motor to go up. I can hear the fluid bypass at about the 6 inch from the bottom. :(
Maintenance mechanics say I need to replace the whole deal. $1100ish.
Anybody have another trim pump?
other ideas :(

Get a shop manual, and they should show you how to rebuild it.

I have a 50 HP Mariner, and the Clymer manual shows all parts needed inside the trim/tilt unit.

Sea Dawg,
Thanks for the response. Why are the maintenance mechanics telling me that the parts aren't available to rebuild the trim pump? I can see rebuilding the cylinders to take care of the motor going up.

over and out.
jc
