The blocks are the same (will bolt up) and use the same crank and rods but the bore (therefore pistons) and ports are different. The heads are different also in 1978. <br /><br />The 1978 140 has a different mounting bolt pattern unless your 1978 is a 25" model. <br /><br />If youre thinking of using a 115 block to replace an 85 make sure of the years first.<br /><br />Good luck!
