I acquired a E40ELCDE, runs awesome EXCEPT the motor barely charges battery. If I idle and trol for extended periods the voltage on battery drops slowly (according to sonar). Only when I cruise around lake that I see voltage slowly increase on battery.
1. Battery is Good (new)
2. I replaced the recitifer with new one.
3. *****I get electrical interference when I try conecting volt meter to battery) gets worse the closer motor the voltmeter is.
I am suspecting faulty charge coil? anything else I should check?

You probably are expecting too much. That motor only charges 5 Amps at high speed, much less at idle. If you are running accessories, it will be a losing battle. You only get out of a battery what you put into the battery.

thanks for reply, yes I saw that, but all Im running is a lowrance elite 7ti2. according to web site has a draw of 0.9amps. was thinking that the emf receiving is indicative of an issue
