Hey guys, I just bought 120 looper and got it put on the back of the boat. If you take the high idle leaver and lift it just enough to put tension on the throttle it fires up on the first bump of the key and will run good and will rev out no problem on the muffs. As soon as you go to drop it down off the throttle it'll stall out. I have the idle adjustment screw turned in all the way and it will stumble and eventually stall (idles way to low) with no throttle. Compression is good 120 in all cylinder and it has good spart. I took a look at the carb orifices and the intermediate jets are 41 and two of the idle jets are 12 the other two are 14. I was curious what the proper size orifices they should be. when you go onto brp's parts lookup it lists that the idle jets should be a 16 and the intermediate should be port 45 and starboard 42. Looking for some advice or common issues. The guy I bought it off of has the same issue and his solution was to get it warm enough and slip it into gear before it would die on him.

Hey guys, took the boat out on the water this morning for the first time and the hard start was an issue still. Once I got it running the motor runs awesome under power and then once warm idles great could troll all day or leave it in neutral and it'll idle. Has anyone ever had this issue just when it's cold?

I had to back the idle adjustment screw out as well because it was idling so high.

Same as every other two stroke I've owned. I'll prime the bulb, raise the high idle till a little bit of tension in the throttle push the choke in and crank. It'll fire then immediately die. Only way you can keep it running is if you give it full throttle let it rev out and hold for a bit then drop the throttle and slip it into gear before it dies. Once in gear you have to give it throttle or it'll quit. After a Wot run the motor idles perfect till you let the engine get cold again.

Update noticed the previous owner how the primer solenoid lever in the 3 o'clock position moved it to 6 o'clock so it's inline with the solenoid. Seemed to start better on muffs will test it out next weekend.

Update, took the boat out for the first time after moving the prim solenoid lever to the 6 o'clock position from the 3 o'clock where the previous owner had it and the boat fires up with some throttle and bumping the primer solenoid with the key. However now I have a mid throttle body. It'll idle in gear no problem but then won't rev out till you're roughly 2/3-3/4 throttle if you're on plane and try to run anything less than 2/3 throttle it'll actually bog out and then die. The previous owner said the carbs had been rebuilt but I'm thinking they need to be gone through and have the mid/ low end air bleeds cleaned out. Has anyone rebuilt these carbs before and any tips on them before I drive in?
