Hello to all,
My situation is that I'm getting a constant beeping alarm from under the dash of my Pro Craft. When in the water it idles fine but refuses to excellerate. At the house with the water hooked up to it appears that everything is ok,water coming out thru the prop and
telltale is ok. Water temp is a little more than warm but not scalding hot.So I'm needing a little insight that might get me back on the water.
Thanks, Boo

boo, alot of times, an outboard with ANY problems, will run "perfect" at home but will run terrible in the water.

in the water is where they were meant to be so that is where you will notioce it. they require the backpressure of the water and the prop torque to have it run propperly.

at home you have NO pressure at all on the motor.

ive had motors that were dropping a cylinder, not running on all cylinders and you never notice it till its too late, when your in the water.

check compression on all cylinders and check for spark on all cylinders. thats the first thing to check. repost and let us know

Beep, Beep, Beep is the oil alarm, either the sender is not detecting the oil pump rotor turning, or the oil resevior on the motor is low causing the float to set the alarm. A constant tone is the high temp alarm. BD

This could be bad news...

Check compression to make sure the cylinders are not damaged...

Next you need to inspect the oil injection system...

Pump gears, oil cap, etc...
