I havent posted much here yet but this site and its members has been invaluable to me thus far. Heres my project. Sweet looking old boat, big motor, goes fast, and its rotton. I removed the top and completely gutted everything. Bare fiberglass hull. I got my new transom made and put in and did a dam nice job imo. And thats where im at. I thought id start this and put some pictures up of my project but I havnt figured out how the get the picture thing to work yet. I'm using materials from us composites. I chose to use epoxy for the glue.

My motor mounts were made using 2x8's on edge and then 2 pieces of 3/4 ply on top of them. Mounts are 6x12 by about 6 high to 8 high. I'm trying to think up a good way to put these back. Maybe just redo them the way the factory did. If anyone has any good ideas please share.

If I put it back with 2x8's what would be the wood of choice. I'm thinking of getting cedar from local store.
