87 215 sundowner repowerd will my 1.65 ratio work

i bought a 87 215 sundowner with a 305 in it it has a 1.65 ratio in it
the 305 was junk so i put a new 350 260 hp in it im runing a 14.25 19 pitch prop on plane it runs 46 4700 rpm. my problem is on gps it runs 42 mph at full throttle and 42 at 3/4 throttle. it seems that it just makes more noise at wot and dosent go any faster. is this a prop or gearing issue. i have a 4 barrel intake on it with a spreadbore to squarebore adapter on it maybe the intake dosent flow good enuff and it isnt gearing idk whats your input

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,... I'd sooner think it's a carb tuning issue....

What do the spark plugs say,..?? What colors, at what rpms,..??

ill take it out and get readings at diffrent rpms thanks
