I finally got my outboard all together after rebuilding/painting it all winter after purchasing it in janurary. Tonight I fired it up and it started after about one revolution of the crank shaft (THANKS GUYS :D ) and I made a little video of it, my only question is, it does not seem to be running totally smooth. eg, i started my 25rude from the same year and it didnt shake or shimmy like this one at all. and i was just wondering if it was because it needed the back pressure of the water to make it run a little richer. I dont believe that I have any idle needle valve adjustments, I unplugged one spark plug wire or the other and when either is disconnect it dropped rpms, The primer was turned off (little red lever pointing twards carbs), and both butterfly valves are closed (cam not touching throttle plate). New plugs @ .40 (champion of course), compression 120 each cyl. Vro disconnected with new fuel pump, new water pump too.

Is this just the nature of the beast (out of water) or is it truly not 100%?

http://www.godish.homelinux.org/images/johnson/5-8-05_engine_run.avi
{fixed linky}

Thanks again
Joe Nordone
