87-89 Evinrude 75HP No Ignition Fire

Looking for some tips on this motor. Bought it and the owner said it just quit running. Engine turns over and has compression but no spark. From what I've researched it could be a number of things from the Stator, Broken wire, and or a Trigger. I have most all common tools available from sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc., and a meter. ANY help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

87-89 model 75 HP ??----Better post your model # so we know what you have !!

Correction-----88 appears to be the last year they marketed the 49 cube 75 HP motor.-----While they marketed a 56 cube 70 HP propshaft rated at the same time..-----I think the 75 was left over inventory and NOT prop rated.----We need your model # or pictures of the powerhead.

Sorry for the mistake. The previous owner said it was an Evinrude but after looking everywhere for a serial/model number, this is the only number I could find anywhere. Apparently it is a Mariner Outboard. My apologies.
