87 Glassport cruiser omc 3.0 L Lower end stuck?

Hey I'm new here but not to other forums on other topics, the site looks great! I spent the last 4 hrs or so reading some interesting things on omc's..lol I just bought my first...a 1987 22' Glassport cruiser w/omc 3.0L 4cyl. Got it real cheap, and in excellent condition! But...lol the lower end recently got stuck half way going uP? On the uP & Down switch, on the controls? puzzling to me as it now just clicks at the solenoids? The Tilt & Trim works fine though...lol
I replaced the 2 solenoids for the uP/dn switch, checked the uP&Dn switch wiring @ the controls,it was fine? I'm about to remove the cover on the lower end & check the cable, to see if it's jammed, Just wondering..does anybody else have any other Ideas?? The boat is great other wise.. But can't do anything with the Bottom end stuck.. I'm also waiting for the previous owner to get the Repair & Original Boat manuals... Sure would have come in handy now...lol

Ayuh,... Hotwire jumper the motor...
If it don't move, it's probably the quadrant gear jammed...

Hey thankx 4 the response!! So ya, I jumped it off the Battery, It made a Click in the lil motor, I then plugged the uP/Dn motor back to the solenoids, it went up& down briefly, then stopped with a real sl.....ow.. creeping halt? I then removed the lil motor from the Lower Transom to find the Bushings were completely worn and same as the Armature & the over all wiring was just fried... I sent it to a buddy down the road for a rebuild! Problem solved! But I'm still waiting for the owner manuals as well as the OMC repair manual's..lol I guess I should have just forced the guy to give em uP when I picked it uP...lol Thanks a lot. I'm really digging this SITE! I hope what happened here with my problem.....helps someone else! I paid & $4800 Canadian for the boat, do you think that's a fair Price??? I'm new to Cruisers, I owned a 16' Bayliner before this for 5 yrs... So this is all new!! And I luv it.. Looks like our Maiden Voyage on this Boat will be in 2 weeks!!!! I'm stoked!
