87 renken 2.5 omc new engine(Help PLEEASEES)

Ok I need all the help i can get..so thank if you could.....My block cracked so i went and got a brand new engine...the hole thing. I took all the nuts and bolts off, But I can't get the engine seprated from the tran.. am i missing something. <br />Help Please...

could be that ur driveshaft to the outdrive is rusted solid at the splines.that can be a major pain in the a**.

No I haven't removed the outdrive or the stern drive but the book told me there's a rubber boot on the side of the outdrive that i must take off......is that what you mean???? Thanks for responding and helping

You must remove the outdrive unit before you can pull a engine. the out drive has a shaft that engages the engine and they must be seperated before engine removal. I don't own the OMC outdrive so I can't speak to the details. I am sure there is someone that can explain it if your manual doesn't tell you how to remove the outdrive form the rear housing.

thanks for all your help.. I finely got the engine off... it was rusty. bye myself it was a pain..lol now the new engine is a 3.0 i had a 2.5 the manifold from my 2.5 didn't match the 3.0 head..but the new block come with a new manifold..so i was fine right....not...the manifold from the 3.0 sits the carburetor diff from the 2.5 and there the same 4cyl so thats where I'm at....thanks agian for your help.. My first boat it'll come along...
