I have an 87 Sea Ray Seville cruiser that I've decided to keep and restore. I've repaired stringers before but never anything like this. Here's a link to the photo's. The rot doesn't seem to go any further than the end of the gas tank. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. Also, can regular fiberglass stick to this spray on junk the manufacture used? Thanks!!

Re: 87 Sea Ray Seville resto/questions

That is just regular fiberglass that has been painted right? Looks pretty crappy. I am in the middle of restoring my 1986 Sea Ray Seville bow rider. My original glass job was not bad from the motor mounts back. However, they only went real thick on one side of the stringers the rest of the way.

Regular glass should stick fine once you have sanded/ground the paint off and everything is smooth.

I agree that it's a horrible job. Thanks for the info!
