Hello. Getting it more stripped down and had some questions..
Thanks,Pete

top view of holes I punched in hull (with spiral saw) Have not use it much since..How to repair? (I thought fill in gap with resin with wax paper and tape on bottom of hull then gel-coat bottom?)

Attach my new deck with poly resin (unwaxed) and mat to this existing cut?.. Optain resin from US Composites?

another view of exposed hull ready to rebuild..should I recoat the exposed hull with resin and mat to strengthen it?

A shot (at bilge) of how SeaRay "formed their foam"...It is 1/4 " thick resin that I thought was wood stringers...This was done along the sides of foam beside fuel tank and ski locker areas as well)

http://i564.photobucket.com/albums/ss90/76corvette/DSC01588.jpg

a shot of the resin "form" that housed the foam and what is left of the wood..You would think it would be a 2X4 here but appears like "staggered" 3/8" plywood that ran beside and on top of "resin form" ???? Anyone know of a better answer?
Thanks again!
Pete

How did you cut the bottom of the hull. I am just getting ready to do the same thing with a roto-zip but mine has the depth gauge on it. I am thinking just set the proper depth and go to town. I would really like to avoid having the same issue so any advice would be appreciated. Good work so far though.

Thanks NitroSteve..

I made the mistake of having the depth set wrong and with an irregular cut I had to do...I do not use it much..The bit I had on it just did not cut through it good...I mostly now use this:

MultiFunction Power Tool --- $40
Harbor Freight
http://www.harborfreight.com/

It cuts nice clean lines and you can "feel" it better..The flat blad is great for cutting underneath the wood/fiber and not harm your hull...The big PLUS is not as much dust as a grinder would be...I just do a little then vacuum up with my shop vac,,,Recommend buying extra blades (the half moon and flat toothed blade) if you are cutting alot...You just have to let the tool do the work and not force it much..It is time consuming but not too much mess and I feel better being careful with it...I am in a garage and wear a dust mask since not much open air..It is warmer though :) .....Good Luck!

ive tried to let you know how to fix it but keep timing out on page, my recommendations are go get a fiberglass repair manual, check on this site, if they dont have one let me know and ill tell you how or tell you where to get a manual

I have a book "Runabout Restoration" which has helped some but always looking for a better one...Appreciate your book suggestions..I wish they had a book with step-by-step illustrations..Hey,I like pictures! Maybe someone else will chime in.
