I thought I had this solved.....I found a bad ground connector on the coil, so replaced that connector, and check spark on muffs by pulling spark wires off of each plug, and was getting spark. But when I was out yesterday, idling in no wake zone, I thought it sounded like it was missing. I pulled all spark plugs when I got home and the 2 on the #5 cyl were as clean as if they were new out of the box. The other 10 were oily brown..... so is my coil breaking down and is there a way to test it. I can reposition the #6 and #5 coils around and see if problem moves, but beyond that, I 'm not sure of what to look for as a method of elimination of the problem.

Well, it seems my problem was in the wiring coming from the coil. At the moment its fixed. but all I did was check and make sure all the connectors were tight. I did find another broken or weak connector on the #3 cyl. fixed that even though that one wasn't a problem - yet. But all cyl are firing now, now to see what happens while out on the water. I may have to replace that #5 coil, since I have a feeling the secondary feed wire may have a break in it, or possibly the secondary ground.
