3 of the 5 trim bolts broke off the trim cylinder when on the water the other day, the other 2 were stretched and holding to cover to the cylinder. Trim worked great for most of the day. Then shot craps. It's an '88. Not worth taking to a shop. Tried having a welder stick weld nut to what is left of bolts. They are too weak and wont back out. Can't get small enough drill to try to easy out the broken bolts and don't like the idea of removing the motor. Can I plug the fluid line to the trim and still keep the tilt? Throw in a new cylinder rubber seal kit (have one already) and have it welded shut for one more round? Suggestions? Thoughts?
