no spark on either wire
changed power pack
trigger, rectifer
checked kill switch

Disconnect the black/yellow wire from the power pack and see what happens.

ok now im stumped
new stator
diconnected black an yellow wire
still no spark
im sorry to its a 84 model
help

well me and the cdi guide still cant figure it out
i dont have a dva so i used a multi meter an from what i can tell it all checks good
ohms are right in specs but volts are not but probaly cause of my meter
dang this thing is kicking my butt lol
conti on grounds checked out good

looking at the ignition diagram for your engine at marineengine.com < simple to navigate >have you checked/replaced #21 the charge coil?...any of your pins pushed back into the connectors and not sliding into the sockets?

yes sir i have replaced 6,11,21,24,37,42
all brand new
in researhing i found my fly wheel thats on it is a 582435 an the book calls for a 582434
cant find anywhere thats says they are exchangeable
this motor is on a boat i juat bought dont know what the other guy has done to it
all the wires look to be in right places
guess ill have to take it to the boat shop :(
checked all the sockets an pins look to be in

did you ever see this motor run?....tiller handle or remote start?...how are you checking the spark?

nope never did it was brought to my buddies about 2 yrs ago with no spark he srarted working on it an never could get a hold of the fella to see howe far he wanted to go with it
i came along an found the owner who didnt take the boat there he got married an such an forgot about the boat
so now im trying to get it to run
it is a remote
spark is beening tested by putting a screwdriver in plug wire an getting close to the block
also taking wire off an checking for spark

is there a plug where the boat wiring connects to the wiring for the motor?...something you can unplug?..if so, unplug it, and check for spark when turning the engine over with a remote starter switch, or, if this motor has it, the manual pull start

thank you for yalls help
now to explain
called the motor guy at becks marine in jacksonville fla asked about a flywhell he told me in his 38 yrs working on evin an johns he never had a flywheel go bad
he told me i was missing something simple an he could have it sparking in 15 mins
i took it to him an he had it sparking in 5 mins lol
when i put the new wires in the plug from the trigger an coil i didnt get them in far enuff had continuity through them but they werent making enough contact to make it spark
brought a little tool out an poked them in sparked right up
brought it home cleaned the carb an put new gas in it
purrs like a kitten

something was bad to srart with
im leaning towarg the trigger but ill never know for sure
