Hello, I have a 1988 mercury 35hp oil injection motor that I wanted to restore. Last ran maybe in 07. Before I even try to turn over I wanted to understand about the oil. When I see "oil injection " I think there must be an oil holder tank but I don't see anything. Is there one or just mix oil in gas? Also don't have a key. Any help in how to get one,? Thanks

I probably had the Auto blend system on it and hopefully got thrown away. Mix your fuel at 50-1 you might be able to get a # off of the switch and a dealer can help you..

MerControls with built in ign keys used about 10 different ones. A Merc dealer should stock those 10 keys.

You can disassemble the MerControl and get the key number off the ign key body, or drag the thing to the Merc Dealer and try the keys.

The auto blend oil injection system used an oil tank and blender in the boat, connected to the motor.

If there's no big contraption connected, you need to mix oil into the gas manually.
