I've got a 1988 18' Bayliner Cobra with a 125 horce Forse. Here's the process I went through... First attempt to start she turned over but wouldn't catch. After a few tries she wouldn't even turn over and all I got was a clicking noise. Battery is new and all lights were running bright. Battery terminal was reading at 12V. Earlier, the engine started and ran with no problems. Not sure where to start...
Much thanks for your help.

Take and run jumper cables directly to the starter and see if it turns over. If it does NOT turn over...replace the starter...If it DOES turn over...check Battery connections and the Solenoid.

TMD

OK I ran jumper cables straight from the battery to the starter and no luck. When I came back to it this AM, the trim was losing power too. When I turn the key no clicking noise was made by the starter, even the electric choke was losing power it seemed. My guess at this point would be the battery but it's reading close to 12V. I am going to try a new battery now and we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestions.
