Hi there, does anyone know the max ,in water, rpm for this engine.Its at about 4500 wide open and the front of the boat bounces badly and cannot seem to be able to trim it out, the only way is to throttle back.Also can i use muffs to run water into this engine from the bottom of the leg.Thanks.

That's called porpoising, usually trim all the way in (down) if it still does it than your stern heavy, try shifting some weight to the bow.
You can run water to the drive using the typical suction cup muffs and a hose no problem.
My book shows WOT 5200-5600 for the 2.3L.

Hey thanks, I did add 2 31series batteries in the back of the boat for a front mount tolling motor.
