Now it get's worse. Where did you get the starter, need a part number or something. The starter solenoid does not have a terminal near the block. Not sure how it's wired internally.
This is what happens when things aren't done with the proper parts.

Here is the type starter you SHOULD have with your solenoid and wiring setup. The arrow shows where the A cable would hook up, there would be no B cable.

It finally struck me what was happening. Your battery cable is shown in the picture below on the trim solenoids. You need to change it from terminal A where it is now, to terminal B on the slave solenoid as shown.
What you have been doing is trying to crank the starter through the 50A Trim fuse, which was blowing. I assumed it was the ign. fuse blowing since you were loosing power to everything.

Re: 88 Capri 50 amp Main Fuse blowing during initial start

OK, I moved the Battery Positive Cable to the slave solenoid on the B terminal, I screwed on the large red wire back to the starter, attempted to start the motor using jumper cable from batter + terminal to the starter. Fuse did not blow. Starter turned the motor over for 8-10 seconds. I think were getting somewhere with this problem. I appreciate your help! What should I do next?

Hook it all back up and start it up (use muffs). Your fuse blowing problem is fixed.
