88 force 35 hp cd unit

Here is my question: I have a 88 35hp force that needs a cd or cdi unit, I have a 78 chrysler 35 hp that has one that works. Can I use the chrysler part on the force motor? would this be the same part? I have found the new part online #CDI116-9301 but its expensive and can't afford it right now.

Kurt: I am not really sure about compatability since some systems were kept the same as Chrysler progressed to Force, and other systems changed. If the wires to and from the CD box are the same both in color and in quick-connect type then chances are it MIGHT work.

The guy who would probably know for sure is Franz Buddenberg. At 9pm Thursday (tonight) go to the Chrysler Crew and sign up for the chat room. Franz is almost always on there. Ask him.
