88 Mercruiser 4.3LX, buzzer before starting

I have a new to me 1988 Sea Ray Sorrento 19' with a 4.3LX Mercruiser engine. When the ignition key is turned to the first position before the starter is engaged, the buzzer sounds. As soon as the engine is started and running the buzzer goes off.

What does that buzzer indicate and what should I be looking for. Is this "normal"?

Yes, it's normal. It means that there is no oil pressure. Once you start the engine and have oil pressure it will stop sounding.
