My OMC 3.0L chevy I/O is running great EXCEPT after running for about 45 min continuously it will all of a sudden stall out, like it totally loses ingnition.
It has a brand new:
- coil
- electronic shift assist module
- starter
- starter coil
- battery.

If I pull the bonnet and fiddle with the shift interupter it seems to be able to start up.
But this does not make sense in that I thought the shift interupter is only able to ground out the spark at a low RPM.

Thanks
Ned

--- (by-pass the SI and see if the problem duplicates itself.

If the problem is still there, you'll need to determine if it's really loss of ignition that's causing the shut down, or do you have a fuel related problem causing this?

Is your boat a newer model with ignition system running off a curcuit breaker?

If so, check that breaker. It may be in need of replacement.

The time it takes you to mess with the Shift Interupter may be just enough time for the breaker to cool down thus allowing you to start the engine over and over again.

If you - do have - a curcuit breaker controling your ignition do you have any other devices running off the same breaker causing too much draw?

???
