88 omc 5.0 fuel pump

i was having a problem with my motor bogging down real bad so i rebuilt the carb changed all the filters and also put in fresh gas and all new tune-up. today i went on a test run and my motor idles really good put when you give gas it stalls out so i opened the door to the motor and i was giving gas "pumping" and you can see gas and i mean alot of gas coming out the yellow tube that goes from the fuel pump to the carb. i heard when gas comes out that tube your pump needs a rebuild or a new one? when i say alot of gas i am saying when gas comes out the tube it hits the carb and then splash all over my motor.... so am i looking at a new fuel pump?

Rebuild the pump.Diaphragm is spent.

do you know if iboats sells it? also why does gas come out that tube and can i just block off the tube or is that no good?

No you can't block it....Is your pump a carter?How many phillip screws?

i just bought a pump for our boat it was priced at 149.00 usd but got it for 75.00usd. it is a carter. i think it had seven screws on the bottom
