As Bob posted...No. The 88 hp and 90 are the same, the 115 has different size intake and exhaust ports.

The 115 carbs are have larger throats and pass more fuel/air. The 115 has different heads. The 115 has the special bubble back exhaust system, machined at the factory. Likely the 115 has different porting, machined at the factory.

Depends on the years you're talking about....

The 1984 & prior 140 crossflow is basically the same motor as the 1985 & up 115hp crossflow - they re-rated the motors at the prop starting in 1985. The 1984 & prior 115 had a flat-back exhaust, with the same porting as the 140, which had the bubbleback. The 1985 & up 115 had the big ports & bubbleback of the earlier 140...
The 1984 & prior 115 became the later 100 (big ports, flat back).

Porting area, carbs, intake stuffers, heads.. The only heads that are different(chamber wise) on the 3.5 bore crossflow are the pre 1980 140's. The later model (85 and up) heads fit 85-140 hp's and are a lower compression due to cast-in "filler" eyebrow in head is smaller(more area). The 1981-85 heads have about 10 psi more running compression and also fit 90-140hp's. Other differences in heads and blocks are "boss" casting differences for ignition components mounting, transfer port covers, intake manifold, carb throat size. There is about 5 different porting "maps" for V-4 blocks, that why sleeves are sold without ports so they can be matched to block...
