All,<br /><br /> I've been having trouble keeping my 1988 Yamaha 90hp running at idle and power has dropped off at speed as well. Compression is good and I think my carbs are OK, but my plugs don't look great. I've gone through my manual's CDI ignition checks and all the stator parts & pickup coils look good. However, when checked the ignition coils themselves, the secondary sides all came up at 4800 ohms, which is the value for 70hp coils. The 90hp value is 2500 ohms, so I'm thinking that either my manual is wrong or at some point someone put the wrong coils on the motor and it's showing up now becaues, maybe, a lead is starting to get weak. Anyway, if anyone has seen anything similar and/or can confirm the 70hp & 90hp resistance values, I would appreciate it.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Matt
