88hp ignition question

I want to replace the 30 some year old ignition system on my 1989 88hp Johnson. The power pack I've found seems to run 4 coils using 1 power pack. My engine has 2 power packs. I can't find a power pack like the original (1 pack to 2 coils.) So i'm confused again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is the serial # on the powerhead the same as the serial # on the transom bracket ?----Perhaps the powerhead has been replaced.----If the ignition components have worked all these years why would you want to replace them ?

Thanks for your reply. The serial # is 0432290. I've not noticed one on the transom bracket, I'll look.Yes the engine is fine at the moment,however 1coil shows signs of leakage.Also the wiring is corroded. It's time to freshen up these parts. 30 years
give or take in saltwater. Same question. Do these CDI power packs fire 4 coils from 1 pack? Thank you all for your concern & interest in this request.

Well ----if your engine has 2 powerpacks it may not be an 89 model.-------So you need to find the correct parts or you may have issues with the " plug in " connecters.
