I'm beat on this one, I just got the motor running great. I took it out for a day on the lake, ran fine for about an hour. I noticed the tell tale stream getting weak, as I went to shut it off the motor the stream quit, I trolled back in.

When I pulled the impellor it looked ok, I put a new one in. No water in tell tale when I started it. I pulled the t-stat when I started it no water, not a drop, came out of the t-stat hole. I saw now debris in the tubes from the water pump. There was nothing to speak of (debris) in the cylinder head cooling area.

When I replaced the impellor I could see into the water opening in the foot of the motor. I do not think the water pump was at fault nor the t-stat.

What should I check now? Thanks so much for the help, I want to fish a little this fall.

Because the manual said to turn the impellor housing clockwise, can I use a drill to turn the driveshaft CCW to test the water pump? Just to be sure I the pump is working.

Thanks again.

And while you have the lower unit off stick a water hose on the water tube in the midsection and see if water circulates thru the pee tube. Pull the T-stsats and see if water gets up there too,

Walker are there more than one t-stat? I only pulled the one at the cylinder head. If so where would the others be?
Thanks

Thanks for the help so far. I connected water to the tube in the midsection and water makes it to the tsat and peetube.

I found the vanes on the impellor pointing in both directions, I had the plate right and no plugage to pump.

I quess the impellor is the culprit, what did I do wrong?

Maybe worse the drive shaft pulled up from the foot as the impellor is stuck tight, have not got it off yet.

Is the drive shaft coming up a biggie? It slide back in easily.

Thanks again.
