I came across a teleflex 8k tach for $5.00 So i figure I'll hook it up.
I know there is a 3 pin connector on the remote that can be used, but due to the design of my boat I would have to go from remote fishing wire through the wall, to the stern then under the floor back to the center console.
Looking at my schematics I can see where the ground and sense wires come from on the engine. The ign wire appears to go to the engine but it appears to stop at the big connector. Is there another place to pick it up? I would prefer to pick up the signals at the engine as it would make running the wires much simpler.
Any thoughts on how to wire straight from the engine?
Alternatively does anyone know the part number for the mating connector for the connector on the remote control?
