Is this an interference engine? what gets broken when the timing belt goes? how do you fix it?

Not sure, but my dad had an AQ 145A that was NOT an interference engine. I kept telling him to change the timing belt.........

They are not interference engines.

You fix them by installing a new belt, new tensioner if it's rusty or worn, and new pulleys if they are rusty.
