Bought new mercruiser trim sender/limit kit, properly installed and wired because trim gauge pegged far right, both wires corroded of sender, both wires bare on limit switch. Adjusted sender, gauge operation fine, plugged directly to engine harness. Trim limit diff story, both wires cut off on end. Found both blue and purple wire at trim pump connected and taped together. Connected purple to one limit wire, both blues to the other. Started to adjust limit switch for trailer up, but now after a couple up and down cycles, outdrive will just stop before limit reached, pump motor gets pretty hot, all I get is a click at solenoid. Let sit for a couple seconds, takes off again when hitting button....will do this in up or down. Both batteries new and fully charged. Clean and tight connections at pump. Good grounds, clean fluid and full. At times, even going up the outdrive would really speed up, at other seem to struggle. Please help, trying to get boat ready for vacation next week. Already spent too much time and money getting things right from previous owner. Thinking a bad pump motor?

limit switch is adjusted for "trim limit" . something like 20 1/2 inches between the mounting pins. trailer button bypasses the limit switch

21 3/4 limit before trailer up mode. Just hard to do when drive unit slows down, stops and just clicks, wait .......hit button again and moves some more. I bypassed the trim limit switch at blue and purple wires like originally but does same thing
