89 Force 50 hp ignition problems

I have a 1989 Force 50 hp outboard engine that has a problem with the spark. I pulled plugs out to see if it was gettin any spark. im gettin good spark on one but just a little bit on the other. I thought it might be the coil. so i switched the wires going into the switch box cdi switch box thing and thenn the other started gettin spark, so one of the wires coming out of the box is gettin spark and the other one isnt. does this mean that cdi switch box is bad or is it something else. i dont know anything about ignition systems so any help would be appreciated. thanks for your time.
