Let me start of by saying this is the very first boat I have ever owned. I got an 89 bayliner bass trophy boat with the force 50 outboard. Went out on it about a year before it became mine and everything worked. It becomes mine and won’t start now. I put new gas, new inline filter, and a battery in it. It will frank but not start. Compression is good, already grounded out the plugs to make sure I was getting spark and I am.not really sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

If you do not have spark, it's more complicated to troubleshoot as the cause could be, faulty power packs (CM modules), bad stator, or bad trigger coil or even just simple bad wiring. Check with CDI Electronics for troubleshooting.

Getting spark but not starting: check the flywheel key? water in the tank? dirty carb?
Does the squeezie get firm?
Clean the carb.
You using the choke and fast idle position with the shifter?
Read the first 4 posts in this forum, good tips on things that might go bad and stop you from starting.
