I am doing a lot of little stuff to this motor and still having issues. I was wondering if anyone knows if you can actually adjust the float height in these, it seems like once you unscrew it even a little it is to loose. I was also wondering if anyone knowws of a good starting place to find maybe a used service manual for this motor??

Re: 89 PRO 50LF questions

Those floats like all carb floats I have ever seen are adjusted by bending the metal tab, not by turning the hold down screw.
You might find one on ebay used, but you maybe better off just buying one new if you can find it for that old of a motor. They sell electronic versions on different web sites, but I do not know if I have seen non US models listed on the sites.

my junky seloc said you shold not bend that tab as it will break. I installed new floats but was not sure if they are set specific with no adjustment needed. I have seen websites that sell electronic manuals and say they are engine specific service manuals, but how can you be sure. you would be out $30 bucks if the are scans of a clymer or seloc.

Re: 89 PRO 50LF questions

are your tabs plastic or metal.
some yamaha carbs the float was all plastic, its either right or not.
some had a metal tab that rides on the needle, those are adjustable.
