'89 v6 200 Gearbox probs

Hi - when engaging forward I get thre distinc bangs in a row as I accelerate - where it seem to be trying to engage a gear. In revers a real 'graunch' - needs a sharp tug to get it in but it's a real jolt.

Is this an adjustment issue?

try adjusting your shift cables before anything else. its free and simple

hi - ive adjusted the cable - when i adjust to engage forward it makes revers worse and vice-versa?
