i am rebuilding a 72 9.5 johnson and the new seat that came in the kit has a odd shaped keeper, or clip on the top of it does itstay on the seat is it for shipping? help please, Jim
That clip is designed to snap on the groove that you see on the float needle valve, with the longer end hooking over the float tab. This allows the float to pull the needle valve down when the float drops to a lower level.
thanks alot I thought I used it but didnt want to put it together then have to take it apart if i was wrong and have to buy another gasket. thanks again, Jim
