my 9.5 idles high how do i get it to idle right any help would be great

The model is an MQ and the 13 means a 1967, it's ONLY 39 years old!!!!!<br /><br />Unless the carb and spark advance linkage is stuck or way out of adjustment, the idle speed control is the black "wheel" on the port side of the motor.

thank you but what side is the port and is the black wheel under the calen

Standing in back of the engine, port is left, starboard is right. Easy to remember as port and left both have 4 letters.
