9.5 starter mod...

I think that since I have to get a whole new starter assembly for this motor that I may take the old one and try to modify it to an electric drive. I figure that all I really need to do is find a good 12v motor with the right amount of torque and fab a mount to the bottom of the mount plate for the plastic drive gear. I just need some input on what kind of torque I will need. A little wiring finess to a starter pushbutton switch and I should be good to go, huh? -woody74

good luck if u do then u did better then evinrude since there is not electric start ever made for this motor

if you have a toothed flywheel check e-bay for a starter and mount

Im on to ebay, I just have one more starter than I need and so I was going to play, still looking for some more advise on torque specs. Thanks for the input so far, this should be interesting. -woody74
