just wondering if anybody have any advice on how to get the water pickup tube reinstalled in this motor, the manual does not show this and I cannot see the entrance or port for the pickup tube. I have been doing some research online and apparently it is very difficult to do as I have found out, where is the port or entrance located , thank you in advance for any help or techniques

It's underneath the power head. Take a good flashlite and look up there and you should see the grommet it goes into. Be sure to put some grease on it.

To answer the question, the water tube is held up in there by a stainless steel push nut. If the nut comes off, there is no way in heck to get it back without pulling the powerhead.

Difficult to do is an understatement. The motor floats on rubber mounts in a shell. In order to pull the powerhead you have to split the outer shell and shuck the motor out of it. A very intimidating job for the novice. I've done so many of them that I could almost do it blindfolded. But it's still a big job.

P.S. While you are in there, replace the rubber boot on the shift rod. They give a LOT of trouble, and when they leak the motor won't run right with the hood on. Biggest problem is they aren't made any more. Good luck.
