9.9 and 120 in/out motor questions

o.k. my 1993 9.9 merc won't exhaust any water out from the normal port, what could be wrong? next, my 1975(excellent shape)120 in/out board motor stopped trimming up this weekend. I still hear a click from what looks like to be a little starter , maybe solenoid or something from the left rear side of the motor.What should I look for /do? Got any ideas , please feel free to give me a chat Cheers, johnny dw

2 for the price of one, your little merc, when was you last waterpump put in, and stat also, if recently, like with in a year, and it hasnt been overheated, try running the engine without the thermostat and cover and see if water comes out could be a few things with no water peeing out, bad/old/damaged impellar, water tube not aligned in the housing, restriction in the water passage etc, #2 check the solenoid, try to send 12 volts dc to the trim motor and see if it raises/lowers, check you grounds on the system also

DO NOT run that motor without water peeing out that pee hole. Your gonna have to drop your lower unit and install a new Impeller, dont worry, there suppose to be changed out once a year. <br /> Running your motor without water running through it is like running your car without radiator fluid.

you can run your engine briefly, dont go wide open for 5 minutes, it wont last that long, but you can run it long enough to see if it pumps with out the stat and cover in place
