9.9 electrical problem

I have a 1997 9.9 with vary few hour since new. The motor will run for about 15 minutes then will die and will not start (no spark). Let it sit for a couple of hours and it starts. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be swithbox or stator what. Thanks Bob
