Well, since this forum got my 50 year old 5.5 Johnson running like a champ I figure I may as well move on to my next project a 1980's sailmaster(?) 9.9 hp motor. It runs fairly well however I picked it up in a used state and have some problems with the wiring. The stop button was removed from the panel in the front, and I purchased an electric start for the motor but can't seem to figure out where the connections from the starter should run. Naturally I don't have the original manual. 
Also and even more troublesome how does one convert this long shaft arrangement to a normal shaft (if you're not on a sailboat the longshaft is really a pain.) Any thoughts on where I can get the parts/advice on doing the swap.
